Hellcat’s Claws

Tamami Crest was born in the Diaspora, on the planet of Rhazin. The planet may have been able to emerge from its messy inter-planetary war with a more defined future had things not escalated to the use of nuclear bombs. In the fallout, the Rhazin Restoration Party, composed of wealthy individuals who had sold out the planet during the war, took total control and wrung Rhazin dry. 90% of the population lived in poverty, and Tamami was part of that percentage. She lost her father, brother, and sister to a mugging, dangerous work, and sickness respectively. It wasn’t long before she decided that delving into the omninet was the best use of her time. While Tamami’s mother Yanah dedicated herself to what remained of their community, Tamami herself fell face first into HORUS forums. She was taken under the wing of a Manticore pilot, and that ended the way anyone familiar with endless martyrdom would expect. As soon as Tamami got her hands on Goblin code, she hijacked her way off Rhazin with nothing but a note to her mother. She wasn’t just Tamami Crest anymore, she was HONEY BEAR. 

The name HONEY BEAR took her through several years of learning what it meant to worship or revere RA and kiss the feet of self-castigation. For a good chunk of it, she had her best friend, Teddy, an OSIRIS NHP. Anyone familiar with the cannibalizing god complex of OSIRIS might have cried every time HONEY BEAR refused to cycle Teddy. Despite their highs and many lows, HONEY BEAR would have never wished anything but the best for him. Teddy must have felt the same somehow, because he saved her life at the cost of his own, but death is only as permanent as it is allowed to be in the universe of Lancer. Teddy came back eventually. Before that, though, HONEY BEAR had to figure out how to exist with yet another loss. She did that by giving in to her inner Manticore: HELLCAT emerged from the ashes.
